About the Image(s)

Previously I have presented many images with silhouettes and replaced sky. This month I decided to keep the sky. Instead I wanted the tree to organically grow from silhouette into an explosion of color. The problem is, everything I tried looked flat. I finally settled for this version which is not as vibrant or defined as I had hoped and envisioned, but at least it doesn't look like a Christmas cut-out card.

Another slightly psychedelic image, Steve. I do like your final colouration of the tree, but I wonder if the building and bits of roof are needed! A plain background with the colour of the rest would work well. I am also in two minds as to whether the sun is needed since it is very bright. A work in progress I feel, but one which is certainly worth continuing!

I like the shapes that the various colors have taken on in the tree. The roof fragment on the upper left and the electrical wires are distracting and could easily be removed with the healing brush. You could try increasing the saturation in the Image>Adjustments dialog to increase the vibrancy you were hoping for. Like Mike, I would encourage you to keep working with this image; it has a lot of potential!   Posted: 05/05/2023 13:53:12

I agree wth Mike and Jan about the distracting building and power lines. I'm not sure about keeping the sun - it draws the attention away from the coloured leaves.
I'd be tempted to use a different sky and do away with the distracting elements.   Posted: 05/09/2023 15:38:14

I like the challenge you set out for yourself, and your end result is pretty well on the mark. I attempted to pick up in the vibrancy a bit in the attached. Also removed the wire and the edge of the house as they are a bit distracting. Hope you like my version of Tree On Acid.   Posted: 05/09/2023 19:23:08
