About the Image(s)

Not far from where I spotted last month's olives - there was a box of walnuts. I thought it would make an interesting B&W. Crop/sharpen/converted to B&W/vignette in LR, and added a border in Nik.

Iphone 14. Natural light.

I love these kind of shots. I shoot them all the time, and call them Jumbles. I like to say that they demonstrate the force of gravity, because that is what assembles them.
The texture is a great subject, and I like the proportions of the nuts to the frame size.   Posted: 08/04/2026 03:10:36

Another great menu photo! I think, cropped, it works in b&w or living color.   Posted: 08/04/2026 21:44:37

I agree with Stephen, Steve, you could have made the walnuts as few/large or many/small as you wanted, and I think you got it just right. It works well for me in black and white. The textures and patterns show very well.   Posted: 08/04/2026 22:56:19

Great detail in the nuts; BW is very good for this shot.   Posted: 08/11/2026 15:41:45

Hi Steven,
Your crop works well and your B&W conversion highlights the deeply textured, bumpy skin of the walnuts. I like the way you included the walnut in half near the center. Well done!   Posted: 08/18/2026 23:16:01
