Grapevines by Jack Florence Jr

April 2026 - Grapevines

About the Image(s)

I haven't been able to shoot much due to work lately, so I took some pictures of the grapevines; you can see the future grape clusters. The recent heat wave has the vines at about a month ahead of their usual growth.

Nice quick snap. Are things being ahead of schedule good or bad?   Posted: 04/02/2026 17:24:44

Good question, Sue. It can go either way at this point. Although, a lighter crop would actually be better, as we have kind of a wine glut right now.   Posted: 04/03/2026 14:30:04

Nice image. A good reminder of Spring's arrival. Doesn't hold my attention long. I wish the sky were more interesting.

One of the things I enjoy about these groups, is that I'm motivated to take a picture each month. I believe that (along with the helpful comments) makes me a better photographer.   Posted: 04/03/2026 06:56:04

Yes. My camera club used to have a weekly challenge. It got me out there shooting and I improved so much. People understood you didn't have to take a masterpiece every week. I joined DD as the closest thing to that. Thanks for looking and commenting.   Posted: 04/03/2026 14:28:45

I know you are looking forward to watching your grapes grow. The grape vines are sharp with good color.   Posted: 04/09/2026 17:05:47

Hi Jack,
I love to see the grapevine leaves and its spiral tendrils! Your grapevine leaves make me think of the Mediterranean or Asian cuisine dish too (such as "grilled beef wrapped in grape leaves") LOL!
For this image, I'd prefer to crop tighter to eliminate the tree and the ground area, and enhance the color of the sky a bit more. Thanks for sharing your image of the vineyard!   Posted: 04/16/2026 23:11:01
