December 2025 - Small Purple Flower

Howdy, hope you all are ready for a wonderful Christmas.
This image was taken about a month ago in my front yard. Don't know the name of the flower, but since it's in my yard I'm sure it's a weed. It is smaller my small finger nail. Zoomed in on it with my phone camera. Opened in APS-CS6 and resized, Lassoed the yellow and sharpened, Frame.

You've got a nice blurred background, Ruth, and while the petals are reasonably sharp, the center is a little out of focus, or perhaps its just the resolution, but that's to be expected if the flower is as small as you say it is! A wonderful Christmas to you, too. Posted: 12/09/2025 23:05:04
Hi Ruth - Hope you are well. I agree with Jack's comments. I like the yellow/purple/green color palette. One suggestion you may have fun with - there is an app called PlantNet. It's free/easy and allows you to upload images for identification. I use it, because I know nothing about plants! Works with flowers, plants, trees, fruits, etc. It is remarkably accurate!! I uploaded your image and it's a Leafy fleabane (Erigeron foliosus Nutt.). The flower is typically only 0.59 inches in diameter. Posted: 12/10/2025 19:26:22
