St. Joseph's Catholic Shrine by Bill Buchanan, HonPSA, FGDC

December 2025 - St. Joseph's Catholic Shrine

About the Image(s)

Our club had the opportunity to photograph the historic St. Joseph Catholic Shrine in Downtown Detroit recently. The church was built in 1873 and was almost closed several years ago but was rescued by the local diocese.

This was photographed with my iPhone 17 Pro Max and Adobe Project Indigo camera app and processed in Lightroom Mobile.

It's striking in its detail and sharpness, Bill, and no doubt you had to straighten lines? How much perspective distortion was there? The end result is very well done.   Posted: 12/09/2025 23:06:56

Beautiful/sharp image. Agree with Jack that the perspective is perfect - virtually no distortion typically seen in such images. Nice range of tones and colors. I like your vantage point; lower than eye level - but not too low. Did this require correction of distortion? Any comments on indigo - is it better than the iPhone native camera?   Posted: 12/10/2025 19:29:26
