About the Image(s)
This was taken last week. I don't get a chance to see many sunsets now that I'm living in town, so I really enjoined this one. Opened in Snapseed > cropped > vignette > saved. APS-CS6 > resized.

I love the cloud formation. I'd never think to add vignette to a sunset photo. Interesting.   Posted: 07/07/2025 01:34:12
Susan, thanks for your comments. I think I'm going to start using the vignette more often.   Posted: 07/15/2025 13:57:55
Nice sunset light and clouds, Ruth. I like that you included a little bit of the land, but keeping the horizon level would improve - easily fixed by rotating just a tad when you edit and crop.   Posted: 07/07/2025 23:15:32
Jack, thanks for your comments. Thought about changing the land line, but decided against this as it just seemed to add more depth to the image.   Posted: 07/15/2025 14:04:21
The clouds are definitely the star - and the sunset creates nice lighting Agree with Jack that you could improve this by leveling the horizon. I'd like a bit more land along the bottom. In the current image - I think the horizon is too close to the edge of the frame.   Posted: 07/11/2025 21:39:16

Hi Ruth,
The cloudy sky at sunset is dramatic and beautiful! The image appears soft to me. I agree with Jack and Steven that adding a bit more land and level it could make the sunset at the horizon more visible and the scene more beautiful! Thanks for sharing your sunset shot!   Posted: 07/23/2025 03:13:58

Your simple sunset has been transformed into a beautiful piece of art. I normally don't like wide borders but I like how it works with this image. The use of the vignette was well done. I use it on almost all of my images. It's a habit I used in my Darkroom Days. Sometimes all that is needed is a subtle vignette.   Posted: 07/27/2025 17:54:36
Bill, thank you so much for your comments. Using the vignette is rather new to me however, but it just seemed to be just what the image needed.   Posted: 07/28/2025 21:39:27
I liked the horizontal crop to accentuate the sweeping clouds and sunset which was barely above the lower border on the horizon.Did you use 16x9 crop by chance? The angled dark cloud from the left points the viewer to the lower cloud formation and on to the setting sun.It is a unique view!   Posted: 07/28/2025 01:25:05
Wayne, thank so much for your comments. I don't know about the crop; the image size is 786 x 335.   Posted: 07/28/2025 21:55:35
