About the Image(s)
This image was taken in the evening inside the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi last year. The details and design of this mosque are so beautiful. This mosque features over 1000 columns, and each piece of white marble on the columns was individually carved and inlaid on-site during the final stages of construction.

It's beautiful, Kieu-Hanh, I love the symmetry and depth, and as a travel buff I'm envious, as I've never been to this part of the world. My one nitpick is that the lights on the left interrupt the symmetry, but that was unavoidable. Very nice.   Posted: 07/02/2025 22:56:52
Thank you for those thoughtful remarks, Jack! In this image, I do want to show the symmetry of the beautiful columns. I agree with your comments that I should crop tighter on the left to eliminate the dark courtyard and the lights outside the hallway.   Posted: 07/23/2025 04:23:55
Beautiful image - I've never been there - the structures/architecture are amazing. Your image has great detail and lots of interest - so much to look at. I like that you centered the long path to the middle. I offer two alternate edits for your consideration - in one removed the distracting lights that Jack points out and used gradients to darken the periphery/brighten the center. In the other - I selected that black areas - and used content aware fill to see what Ps would do. Not perfect - but it did a pretty good job. Of course neither are the scene you observed - so perhaps the original is best.   Posted: 07/03/2025 14:53:42
Thanks for your comments and your edits, Steven! I like your first edited version to remove the dstraction lights.   Posted: 07/23/2025 04:26:36
Hi Steven,
This second edited version totally changed the reality since the dark area is the open courtyard at nighttime. I'd prefer the first edited version. Thanks for showing me a different option.   Posted: 07/23/2025 04:29:52

I agree - the fact that this structure is open to a courtyard - makes the image more compelling/interesting.   Posted: 07/23/2025 12:34:57
Kieu-Hanh, what a beautiful fascinating image! Thinking about all the work that went into creating such a place is mind boggling. I also found the lights on the left distracting. The composition, sharpness, and color are very good.   Posted: 07/08/2025 17:12:49

One word, spectacular. Your composition and camera placement are incredible. The colors, exposure and sharpness are spot on. On top of everything else you have corrected the perspective perfectly. What an incredible opportunity.   Posted: 07/28/2025 01:37:26
