About the Image(s)
This image from the moat around Angkor Wat attracted me because of the sticks sticking up out of the water, especially the ones to the right. Is it enough to carry an otherwise everyday scene, for you?

I agree that the sticks are the most interesting part of the image. Unfortunately they are small - perhaps too small to have the desired impact. I'd prefer a shot closer/lower - at their level - but I can see that that was likely not possible without wading into the water!   Posted: 03/08/2025 10:23:01
Thanks, Steven. I appreciate your take and those of the others too on this image.   Posted: 03/15/2025 11:35:22
Hi Jack,
I agree with Steven that the sticks appear too small in the vast scene of the moat, making it difficult for the viewers to identify the details and the objectives of your image.
When you mentioned Angkor Wat, I am also expecting to see the temple on the other side of the moat.   Posted: 03/09/2025 20:35:26

Howdy, Jack, This is a lovely scene, but I don't think the sticks add anything to it.   Posted: 03/12/2025 16:07:22
There's nothing that tells us where this photo was taken. Angkor Wat should be more exotic looking! Maybe a close up of the sticks would be more interesting?   Posted: 03/12/2025 21:31:01
Hi,I agree with others that the sticks are too small in the vastness of the river. However,I like the almost human like figure in the front and shapes on the left and I like the patterns on the right.I would suggest cropping the whole left side of the image just to edge of longest stick that points to left. Both groups form a V and it forms a bit of a leading line down to river horizon with the currents/ refections? What do
you think?   Posted: 03/13/2025 03:12:47

Thanks Wayne, yes I think a closer crop as you describe would work better by focusing on the interesting shapes and patterns of the sticks.   Posted: 03/15/2025 11:34:20
