This is an image of aging Port at a small winery in the Douro Valley, Portugal. The large barrels along the sides of the room each hold approximately 15,000 liters of Port in various stages of fermentation.

I can almost smell the aromas here, Steven. The iPhone did a good job of preserving the shadows in what was a dark and contrasty place. Your vantage point gives the image a nice 3D quality. The composition of your image is beautiful! The well-lit barrels in the center with converging lines on both sides create a depth to your image. The wooden beams on the top give the viewer a vintage feeling of the place.
I'd prefer to lighten a bit the barrels on the right of the frame to show more of their details. Nice shot! Posted: 01/07/2025 15:47:26

tx for your comments! I thought the darker barrels on the sides create more interest by forcing the viewer to almost strain to make out what's there. I'll play with your suggestion to brighten a bit. Posted: 01/11/2025 19:53:08
