About the Image(s)

Marshlands along the Little Wolf River in Spring provide a nice contrast to the morning fog along the backroads of Iola, Wisconsin. The marshlands are abundant with wildlife and offer recreation for kayakers. Fog usually showcases what is in front of it and here the foreground marsh grasses get front stage while the trees provide a beautiful backdrop. Tech stuff: f/11, ISO 250, +0.3 exposure bias, 20mm focal length, aperture 3.7, center weighted average metering, flash mode no flash. LR used for RAW adjustments, PS for cleaning up, dodging & burning, and cropping, then Topaz Studio for 2 presets, then into LR for final adjustments.

Trey. again, you have used LR and PS to bring more life into the image. I like the highlights you created which added depth even in the fog. Your photo captures so well the full-of-life organic spirit of a wetland.   Posted: 05/08/2023 20:48:42

Hi Trey, thank you for sharing the images. The color balance is very well-done, and I appreciate the way you captured the fog in the image. The simplicity of the image is also wise, as leaving the sky blank adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, I think this is a perfect image and I have no suggestions for improvement. Thank you for sharing it.   Posted: 05/10/2023 14:42:25

Hello Trey:

You have once again created a beautiful image of a peaceful rural scene. At first I was inclined to favor the original SOOC, but your subtle editing have added warmth and urges the viewer to linger.
