About the Image(s)

Edited in Lightroom.
I increased contrast of the image first,
Decreased luminous of brown , green and blue in HSL to darken their tone.
Converted to Black and white and use HSL again ( all luminosity, saturation and hue ) to dial in more contrast .
Increase Light in tone curve to brighten mid brown and darken dark for more contrast of castle stones.
( This give a similar effect to luminosity mask because they target different areas of luminosity )

In PhotoShop tone curve was used to darken dark and brighten light again for even wider contrast.
This time only the castle was masked in so that the sky and water did not get the extreme effect.
50% grey layers were used to lighten and darken different areas of the image ( sky, trees and water )
for final effect .

This is a beautiful castle from a different viewpoint from last months submission. I like the detail you have brought out in the stone of the castle. To me the trees are too dark and have lost detail.   Posted: 11/10/2019 22:39:51

You have captured a beautiful scene, but I think you have gone too far in making contrasts. In BW photography the grey tones are the most important ones. There is a lot of negative space on the left side that does not serve a purpose, so I think you could have cropped some of it out. I hope you donīt find my comments too harsh, as they are well-meant. Maybe others have a different opinion.   Posted: 11/12/2019 02:04:17

The picture is getting better every time, I agree with Arne comment about you over compensating with use of the contrast on the picture as well the cropping on the left side. The sky is also great improvement,   Posted: 11/13/2019 21:59:52

I like this image much better than last month's. I agree with Arne & David about the contrast and cropping on the left. I might have taken a bit out of the bottom also.   Posted: 11/24/2019 10:34:19
