Very impressive, Gary. The soft focus of the sky and beach with the muted colors against the Memorial Monument speaks to the moment. I think you must have been out quite early to get this image without others around. Very nice.

My Father-in-Law was in WWII and I sincerely wish he were still with us to enjoy this image. While he was not on Omaha Beach, he fought in the First Army, and received a Bronze Star for Valor in Battle of the Bulge. The beautiful thing is he lived to be 94 yo and spent his last 4 years living with my husband and I. This image brought back so many fond memories of him....thank you for sharing this beautiful image that honors all those that served to keep us free!   Posted: 05/15/2023 14:38:03
Congratulations on a wonderful image Gary. Great time of day, muted colours and composition. My only concern, and it is so minor, but now that I've seen it, I can't tear my eyes away from it. On the waterline near the right edge is a small blue "thing". I only comment on this so you can take away a distracting element. I know fully well that when we are concentrating on an image as a whole, we can often miss the tiny stuff. And maybe even that "triangle thing" next to it? I'm not trying to be critical Gary, just trying to remove some imperfections.   Posted: 05/21/2023 03:16:52
Thanks for the "find" Ian, I had missed that item. The monument was well visited on the day we were there and I did some removal of people and fixed the sand somewhat as well. I didn't check the edges as much as I should. I appreciate your feedback.   Posted: 05/23/2023 10:29:09
