About the Image(s)

I took this image no far away from home, in a small park that is open to the bay. I was there observing the Swallows that constantly come and go so I decided to try to capture then on their fast flight.
Many of the photos came out of focus but I managed to save some of which is one that I managed to capture the moment it touches the water to hunt some insect.
In edition I made a slight adjustments and sharpening
The exit data is:

1/1600 sec at f 6.3 and ISO 2000 shot with a 100-400 mm Sony lens at 358 mm and with a Sony camera.

Maria great capture, this one is sharp. These little guys are very fast. I used your original image and with the masking brush I added light, color and some additional texture and cropped it to allow the bird space to fly into, and not being in the center of the frame.   Posted: 05/02/2023 21:08:40

Maria, It is not an easy task to get a swallow in flight, especially as it is dipping the beak into the water. Well done. I like the changes Isaac made. You might try using a little dehaze filter in camera raw as well to add some contrast. Bruce   Posted: 05/05/2023 15:44:40

Hi Bruce , thanks for your comment and suggestion I really appreciate it. I took that afternoon many shoots and only a few were successful, so difficult to get those little birds.   Posted: 05/12/2023 06:19:17

Maria, nice photograph. I was recently at the beach trying to photograph sea birds as they dived into the water and I agree with Bruce it's not an easy task to capture their beak hitting the water. I also like the changes made by Isaac as it creates more contrast between the light and dark areas and makes the blues pop.   Posted: 05/13/2023 07:44:26

Maria, What a wonderful story you captured as this sweet swallow touched the water! Its reflection almost makes it seem as if it were vainly looking at its appearance; it reminds me of the myth about Narcissus. I usually only see swallows as they fly around near trees, so your image of him going into water was truly a delight! I agree with the suggestions made by Isaac and Bruce.   Posted: 05/13/2023 11:59:27

You did very well Maria to capture this at the perfect point of entering the water and that certainly captures one's attention. Isaac's work has helped particularly making its head clearer. Well done.   Posted: 05/25/2023 16:12:08
