About the Image(s)

After I took this shot and took it into Camera Raw and Photoshop, I cloned out the background yellow flowers and significantly darkened the background so the flower would "pop". I adjusted the tonal contrast as well as reduced the noise. I had just put a new lens on the camera and for some reason, the ISO went to 6400 before I noticed it. I attached the original. Settings: f/8, 1/2500 sec., ISO 6400, -0.7 step exposure compensation, and 77mm focal length.

An unusual flower that you did a really good job of photographing. I don't see any noise from the high ISO. The image is very sharp, from the front of the flower to the back. It looks like you captured it at its peak. Your editing is also excellent, and I like the tight crop. Would not change anything.   Posted: 05/13/2023 16:06:23

I definitely agree about darkening the background, because although it is obvious what the subject is, you definitely eliminated some background noise and distractions. I love the juxtaposition of the leaves from the bottom pointing up while the petals are pointing down.   Posted: 05/23/2023 09:02:46

Beautiful flower image, sharp and as others said, your treatment is great, really makes the flower stand out. Interesting that the flower looks upside down with those leaves on top.   Posted: 05/27/2023 16:58:11

Interesting and different. I wonder what insect pollenates this flower? There's a reason the petals are this way. Although it is not perfect, there is something special about the original photo. The color and clarity is different.   Posted: 05/29/2023 22:40:19
