About the Image(s)
It was taken in my back yard using my D750 and a 28-105 lens zoomed out to 105 mm. Natural lighting. Camera was on a tripod. Aperture was 7.1 with a 1/60th of a second shutter speed. The ISO was 160. I was using DXO 9 at the time for my raw conversions and used that software to increase contrast, reduce the exposure a little (to darken the background) and boost the saturation of the flower. I cropped and sharpened the image with the High Pass filter in Capture NX2.

Don, this group really has some talented photographers. This is absolutely beautiful!. Wish I could say something constructive to change but I can't. Maybe just a slight crop at the top but not much. Very nice.   Posted: 05/01/2023 13:47:33

Donald, what a beautiful shot! After your edits, it should be printed and hung on your wall as a lovely piece of art. Nice job!   Posted: 05/01/2023 16:50:38

Well done, Don
I love the overall composition and the colors with the dark background. I feel that the contrast and the saturation is a little overdone. They don't look quite natural to me.   Posted: 05/02/2023 12:25:25

Thanks for showing the original. We all get to choose how we dress up our images.   Posted: 05/02/2023 22:31:54
I know I can always count on you for phenomenal images. Hope you're enjoying the group as much as I'm enjoying seeing your work.   Posted: 05/05/2023 11:32:23
Bev, thank you for the comment.
I've been out scouting some candidates from the yard. Darned if the black flies have hatched out! Bit of a miserable enterprise to compose an image whilst a half-dozen biting pests are trying to feast on me!!!
I am enjoying this group. One image per month works well!   Posted: 05/05/2023 13:45:20

Bev - This format works well for me. It does give me a chance to put more work into the candidate image!   Posted: 05/27/2023 16:45:30
Nice job. We must have been on the same wave length. I like the way you applied the vignette.   Posted: 05/17/2023 10:39:20

Beautiful shot. I like your enhancement of the colors and the position of the crop. Nice job.
Does your group not publish originals? I see you added it in the remarks. If it was posted next to the final, it would be easy to see the remarkable difference.   Posted: 05/27/2023 16:05:16

Marti - Thank you for y=the comment. I agree that it may be useful to post the original image. This would be especially true for the image I'll post for the next round.....   Posted: 05/27/2023 16:44:04
