About the Image(s)
My picture if of the Milky Way on Assateague Island. Still had some campfire and headlights, but was fun to try to get all my settings set up in the dark. f2.8, 20 sec, iso = 3200 and 19mm.

Thank you for showing me this. How did you lighten the water? Posted: 09/18/2023 11:34:42
Hi Catherine, you have a lovely shot of the Milky Way. I usually find an excuse not to go out to shoot it...too cold, too windy, it will be there again tomorrow etc! You even managed to catch a ?satellite on the right side. A square crop to remove the car lights might help, but I do like the other lights on the right which add extra interest. You've taken this with the correct exposure not to get light trails. Exposure is just right with enough detail in the land at the bottom. I like the slightly orange area on the horizon and this works well so well seen and shot. Posted: 09/15/2023 15:36:54
Hi, Catherine,
I used a radiant mask in LR for the lake and brighten it; only a little bit. Posted: 09/18/2023 14:51:01

Catherine, I suppose you could do some post processing but I think anything you do would degrade your vision. I wouldn't crop because then you would lose the expansive feeling of the night sky on the island. If you increased contrast, you would lose some of the night feeling. Others may disagree, but I think you captured what you saw. Nice work! Posted: 09/22/2023 15:12:09
