About the Image(s)
This was worked on in LR and Silver Effects. I wanted a chill for the scene (albeit it is an authenticated winter scene taken yesterday) hence the blue sky. I was out driving on our country roads and had to turn around to capture the hay and barn that beckoned to me! I wanted to include the three objects on the diagonal.

I like this photo a lot. The blue skies with white clouds give nice contrast to the black and white scenery. The only thing I would like to add is some more contrast.   Posted: 12/09/2023 13:33:11
You have captured the diagonal well. I think the hay is less winter and more harvest though. I would remove the branches on the old barn/shed, trim them back so you can see the whole structure. I like that there are a few fence posts down and the barn is see-through. Nice shot!   Posted: 12/09/2023 19:58:49

Hi Debbie, I also love capturing barns on the back country roads. The placement of the hay creates a 3D effect. Was worth turning the car around for this shot!   Posted: 12/13/2023 14:17:33

Debbie,
Great image that represents late fall into winter. The blue sky really gives the image a pop of color. My tow suggestions would be to darken down the left side of the image (the right side is already darker due to the trees and to remove the branches from the front of the barn (as Lauren suggested). Happy holidays to everyone. Susan   Posted: 12/16/2023 15:07:52

Susan and Lauren, thank you for your comments. The branches add to the story of the image and would not serve any purpose of removing them. The viewer doesn't need to see what is behind the branches. Also, would like to know what you mean by the hay being more harvest than winter as far as how it affects the image? When the viewer looks at the image, s/he takes in the whole image.   Posted: 12/20/2023 09:18:16
This is a very beautiful image. Making the sky blue adds that "extra" that makes the image stand out. The bale of hay brings the eye nicely into the scene and the fence takes the viewer to each barn. I really like it   Posted: 12/19/2023 19:12:40
Thank you, Stuart-much appreciated!

I also like the blue skies. It does have a frosty winter feel to it. Good composition with the hay bale, then the lines of the fence leading up into the image.   Posted: 12/20/2023 14:44:54
Thank you, Nelson. I usually don't add color, so it was an experiment.   Posted: 12/20/2023 16:53:34
