About the Image(s)
The image was taken in Central Park, NYC. I used my smaller camera, Sony A6000, because it is more lightweight for inner city trips. I did initial edits in LR and then completed edits in PS before converting it to Black and White with Silver Effects. It is interesting that the musician is not looking out at the people entering the tunnel but rather into the shadows

Susan: What an interesting image. The musician is nicely framed in the curve of the bridge and suspect he is facing the bridge tunnel because it might amplify or add something to the sound of his horn. I like the placement of his instrument case. Sometimes subjects just refuse to cooperate with us photographers. Great shot.   Posted: 05/13/2023 07:55:41
Susan - a well spotted and caught candid image - fortuitous that the musician was wearing white which gives the image impact. That he is looking into the archway is a plus for me and removes the mug shot aspect and adds a degree of mystery to the image. Nicely done o'all, but a little more contrast would give the image a boost IMHO.   Posted: 05/14/2023 04:53:02
Hi Susan
The position and direction of the musician makes you follow his gaze and takes you into the image, really good detail mauntained in the darker areas and really nice textures.   Posted: 05/16/2023 15:30:46

Susan, I would not have guessed that this was Central Park!
Well done for finding such an interesting subject among all the other potential subjects. And well done for such an excellent capture and post process.   Posted: 05/17/2023 07:44:02

John,
It was a lucky shot as I had just walked through the tunnel and turned around to hear him play. I saw him blending into the surroundings which to me was part of his story. Susan   Posted: 05/23/2023 16:47:53

Hello Susan, what an interesting image that embodies the aloneness of a street performer. I would like to recommend that using layers, that you burn in some shadow to focus the light mainly on the sax player to enhance this. I would agree with the suggestion that some contrast would make the image pop more.   Posted: 05/18/2023 14:03:51
Nick,
Thank you for the suggestion to focus the light on th e musician. My fellow photographer processed the image in color but I found this put more emphasis of the bridge detail and mot the player. Will try your suggestions later today. Susan   Posted: 05/23/2023 16:45:55

Hello Susan. Well composed image. The arch draws the eye to the man with the Sax. A very interesting treatment. For me it's a strong image with some mystery. Nicely done.   Posted: 05/24/2023 13:30:34
