About the Image(s)
This flower is a little different for me. I was inspired by a presentation on macro flower photography that was made to a local photography group. I had taken several photos of magnolia flowers and decided to edit them to give a more artistic look. I used Lightroom, Photoshop and Photo AI to crop and sharpen the image. I then took it into Smart Photo Editor and applied one of their filters that smoothed out the petals. I liked the look and plan to enter it into our monthly photo competition.

Julia, excellent image. The soft shadows on the white petals is very fitting for a flower shot. Leading lines in the petal veins also work out nicely. I'm not sure, but the top part of the pineapple shaped central part looks a little over-sharpened. Posted: 05/02/2023 13:53:04
Richard, you are right. The presentation I attended was by Mike Moats and he said he sometimes over-sharpens so I was trying that. After your comments, I backed it off a bit making it more realistic. Good news is that it won 1st place in our club competition so thank you! Posted: 05/13/2023 07:51:25

Very nice... getting sharpness in macro or closeup photography isn't easy, but you mastered it in this one.... Congratulations on getting a 1st place in competition. Posted: 05/14/2023 16:34:36
