About the Image(s)
This is a close up of dry ice. To me it looks macro as the piece was probably 0.5 cm in size and I couldn't see any detail with my bare eye but I actually shot it with my 50 mm prime lens which has better DOF than the macro lens. I shot it at ISO 2000, 1/320 , f 1.2. The wide open f stop is the other reason I used this lens so I could get a better shutter speed while the ice was spinning around in the water. I sharpened it in PS and added a mild iris blue gradient. Any comments you have are welcome, including whether it qualifies as macro or not.

Fantastique, that you saw the possibility for a photo by looking at dry ice is amazing. This is a winner.   Posted: 04/09/2026 14:48:18

Margaret, this is a wonderful image...it's abstract but at the same time, it looks very artistic, like a capture of a glass wave! Great job. It is an amazing image and very much qualifies as a macro shot. Nothing says a macro shot can't be creatively captured.   Posted: 04/09/2026 16:47:56
