This was taken using indoor artificial light but nothing special. The nautilus was set against a black background and then a light was angled from the side.
My camera was on a tripod, and I believe this was using my Tamron 180mm on my Canon 5d.

What an interesting shape. I guess it's a Fibonacci spiral. I love the graduated colours too.
