Somehow my image did not reach Stuart and I could not resend it as it is on a different external drive at home. This was taken with my Laowa lens. I think it says 2.5-5 or something like that (I am not at home to check); it is an extreme macro lens. I was trying to photograph crystals and got this photo of some bubbles trapped under a cover glass on the slide which I liked more than the crystals I was trying to photograph. I took this about 9 months ago or so.The lighting was a flashlight pointing at me through the slide buffered by going through some plastic which can bring out the refraction of the crystals and turned the bubbles blue (it was a white light). I'm not sure I could duplicate this as it was pretty serendipitous but I liked the effect   Posted: 02/09/2025 20:00:49
Margaret, such an interesting image. I really like the abstract effect. I have never used an extreme macro lens - but seems it produces very interesting results! You are an inspiration to try need things...   Posted: 02/09/2025 23:05:15
Nice imageā¦it is very dramatic with the strong color. It it a very calming image to look at. Serendipitous and pretty!   Posted: 02/10/2025 02:57:46
love it. when I write "bubbles" on my microscope review sheet it is a BAD thing... but these bubbles are a GOOD thing. bubble and light reflection all over the place. this works better that drops that I tried under daylight. this bubbles are so clear - maybe because they are so tiny - I did not even know about extreme macro [ is this camera or microscope]. blue hue is very nice - outer space feel.   Posted: 02/14/2025 01:12:53

It is camera. I shoot with a Canon R5. My usual macro lens is a Canon 100mm. But for this I used a Laowa lens which, as I noted above, I think it says 2.5-5. it is very macro with a very very narrow DOF so hard to work with. I did not use a microscope. I had a polarizing lens on my camera and the flashlight, which was pointing at hte camera lens, had a piece of everyday plastic in front of it to help create polarization effect.   Posted: 02/14/2025 03:25:18
