About the Image(s)

If you look closely, I think that bug may be a little tiny scorpion!! But that is why I left it in--it's not the main subject.

I used my Macro 60mm lens, and the settings were: ISO640, f2.8 and 1/3200 sec because it was handheld.

It's too small to be sure, but you could be right. Opening your image and zooming in to see the bug better, I noticed just how good the quality of your picture is.
I think I'd darken down the light areas below the buds a little.   Posted: 02/08/2025 14:05:16

I think that's a very good suggestion….thanks! This is what I love about the DD groups.   Posted: 02/08/2025 15:00:16

Nice image with pleasant DOF. Bug is sharp enough. I have no idea if it is a scorpion! Agree with Stuart's recommendation

Carol, very nice image and I love the texture. I like the blurred bottom. Not sure what the bug is but it is pretty sharp given how small it is.   Posted: 02/09/2025 23:19:43

this is now one of my favorites of yours. such a mix of soft petal surrounded by thorn/needles - blurred background is perfect and keeps a green tone to match the green of cactus base.the back of the flower is out of focus but that is perfect for me because I appreciate the macro. pinks and yellow and green are soft vs the needles shouting danger. like the diagonal lean of the flower into the viewer.   Posted: 02/14/2025 02:18:35
