My Mother passed away last Sunday in Rome. She loved to produce her Calabrian chili peppers in the back terrace and always brought some in her trips to visit me. I did not have my Canon camera so I tried using the iphone’s macro feature to take a photo for this month and as remembrance of her. I attach the back terrace photo for context. Curious about your feedback.
Shot with iphone 15 Pro Max, handheld.

In Lightroom I adjusted exposure and whites and blacks. No cropping.

This is tack sharp for the main subject and I like how you placed that pepper diagonally from off center. DOF is good and I like the colors. Might try lowering the whiteness in the white areas in the background some. Posted: 11/10/2024 02:36:22

I think this is super! The composition and limited depth of field give a strong feeling of 3D, and the composition and colours makes it interesting. I would even venture that the highlights add to that too, but Margaret is right, they are also a bit distracting and whilst I don't think they are burned out, a judge might well say they are.

With the Q camera you can adjust the focal length in three aspects. For close-ups I adjust the setting and go from there. It is very easy. It takesgreat pictures.

Gloria, sorry to hear about your mom's passing. the red pepper is great. the trail of pepper are perfect by being out of focus. I would crop out some background to get rid of highlight [take of top left corner] and decrease highlight in spots. I like the green background to dominate the background. Posted: 11/20/2024 03:57:54
My condolences on the loss of your Mom. What a nice tribute. The colors give it great impact, being complementary. It is almost an abstract. Diagonal placement of the main pepper also works well. What I liked best is the "trail" of red peppers leading into the background. Posted: 11/20/2024 06:27:50
