Is this the same subject type as Margaret's? But at an earlier stage in its life cycle. It's very pretty.

I love the shades and textures in the petals. I think the highlights on the petals would benefit from darkening to a more similar tone to the main parts - I guess there was sunshine filtering in through other plants. There are also some light areas outside the petals which are a bit distracting - these would be easy to clone out I think.

This is an hibiscus not a calla. I have taken quite a few photos of hibiscus and grow them too. Your photo is very nice. I have always loved the contrast of the red, pink and green. It's pretty sharp. A little soft in the center but that doesn't bother me. Nicely done!   Posted: 10/08/2024 00:37:51

Wow John nicely done with an phone! I need to really learn how to use all of its capabilities - I am amazed at the sharpness and detail. Did you use the camera app or one of the more sophisticated apps to take this shot? I have a sense the flower is looking at me - nice!   Posted: 10/12/2024 21:15:51

Gloria,
The iPhone15 Pro Max is an amazing photography tool. There are many online tutorials which I found very helpful in using the phone. Let me know if you want me to send you links for them.
There is a free app that I use for the phone and it is Snapseed. It can help one get many effects and improvements for you images.
Good luck.
