What a beautiful portrait of a stately animal in his prime. The similar coloring of the Buck and grasses gives it a calm and artistic feel. I expect him to run up the road behind him after he poses for you! My eye was a bit drawn to the shadow on his antlers and ear. You might consider neutralizing it a bit   Posted: 10/02/2026 20:17:01
Great shot of a young buck with velvety antlers, Leslie. Technically excellent--composition, focus, side lighting all work together well to produce a beautiful image. I think a little texture or clarity in post would have brought out a little more detail in his coat and kicked your image up a notch. But still a very nice photograph as is.   Posted: 10/02/2026 22:59:43
John/Leslie, I always use a small amount of texture/clarity/sharpness on my subjects!   Posted: 10/04/2026 19:28:42
Leslie, I love this image of the young buck! The buck is nicely framed in your image, the eye and lashes on the second are even visible. And the background clearly shows the beautiful and typical environment of the species. I really love the image and makes me sad that people hunt and kill these animals! Well done and I do agree with John'a comments about more detail would only enhance it more.   Posted: 10/04/2026 19:33:30
A super great shot of a beautiful animal!
Not sure what the background was like, but I would have preferred to see a bit more of the background to better understood where the animal lived, etc.
