About the Image(s)
This image was taken last week near sunset at the Chattahoochee wetlands in Roswell, GA. The Mama deer with her young were passing through the wetlands closer to the boardwalk where myself and several other photographers were standing with their cameras. The deer kept giving us poses in between snacking. I cropped the original just a little and passed it through Topaz AI.

With your 500mm you could probably focus on its nose hairs. Very sharp with lovely fall colors. They must be white tails but they have pretty good size ears. Not quite mule deer size, but especially on the fawn they look big compared to the head size. Nothing to complain about with this photo.   Posted: 12/09/2024 04:08:43

You defiantly had a captive audience! Nice shot.   Posted: 12/09/2024 18:40:30

I really love to watch the deer in the wild. We have many in Loxahatchee NWR and I particularly like to see the fawns! But when you have two interacting in their natural environment you have a great shot. The deer are sharp and clear, and the background nicely shows them off. The one suggestion I thought I would make is to crop it so the deer are not smack dab in the middle of the images. But I'm not sure how you would do it without it being strange looking......anyone else have thoughts about that?   Posted: 12/12/2024 19:49:32

Being as they are looking right at you, I have no problem with them placed right in the center. On my photo here, after the eagle took off with the fish he circled around, then came straight over my head and I have him dead center just as it was shot.
I might suggest experimenting with the colors/saturation of the grasses. On my monitor I find the colors of the deer seem to blend in with the grasses.   Posted: 12/12/2024 20:51:34

Very nice, Sarita. Having your subjects in the middle of the frame works well in this situation, probably because the background is relatively uniform and you have the interaction going on between the two deer so close together. Nice job.   Posted: 12/19/2024 22:13:38
