About the Image(s)
Taken in Costa Rica last fall. This is a Magnificant Hummingbird (aka Rivoli's Hummingbird) and probably my favorite from a beauty standpoint. Now, I know, there are MANY that I've not seen, yet......but on this trip it was the most colorful.
Taken with Sony 7Riv and 100-400 at 400 mm. I found I was shooting at very high ISO's while there, but the DeNoise did a great job.
1/2500 f/5.6 ISO 6400
IN LR - Denoise, Adjusted lighting (particularly shadows),and cropped.

They are truly magnificent. Like that the colors are so vivid and both eyes show (with catch lights). Background nicely blurred. Static hummers are gorgeous, but if caught flying, I think it makes a better story. Saying that, however, I have many photos of lovely static hummers and I like them all. I'd love to go back to Costa Rica, a truly charmed country.   Posted: 11/07/2024 17:18:09

Don't disagree with you...but this particular guy was only seen once ......and while I could catch a few shots of him on different spots at that location...but all were stationary. I just couldn't not get this one with those colors. So I take what I can get!   Posted: 11/08/2024 19:01:08

I am getting really jealous of your beautiful hummers. I hardly ever see any in the US. These colors are wonderful.   Posted: 11/10/2024 21:17:43
