About the Image(s)

Saturday at the local Farmers Market. Slim pickins this time with a pretty sparce crowd. I liked the interaction of these ladies with one holding a watermelon she had just purchased, The baby in the stroller was asleep. I used Luminar Neo software to lighten the area surrounding the subject. Wondering how you feel about such a modificaiton. Fujifilm XPro3, 60mm lens, ISO 1600, 1/4700 at f/9 auto.

Hi Chuck, I like your image and I think you found a good subject. Not having a crowd helps to focus on the subject. I like the highlight around the subject, in the original the woman merged with the background. I think that you may have lightened it just a bit too much.   Posted: 09/09/2023 11:14:23

Hey Chuck, the farmers market is always a good site for street photography. I agree that the back ground is over highlighted. The trees look washed out. I also like more people in the market, just my preference. More of a story.   Posted: 09/14/2023 19:42:40

Hi Chuck,

I notice that your original is also B&W. The women and baby do stand out - and I notice the tall clock peeping over the top of the tent. I think the trees look a bit pale, too. Bringing the ladies and "bub" closer is effective. At least the woman walking next to the pram can say "I carried a watermelon". Grin.   Posted: 09/17/2023 02:53:56

Great story! I like the interaction between the ladies and their movement. I also think the background is too bright and the white from the tents can be distracting.   Posted: 09/18/2023 13:30:52
