About the Image(s)
Attached is my image for March. This is from a trip to Sweden a few years ago, it was a summer morning and people were enjoying themselves at a local cafe. Camera Canon R5, Tamron 28-300 at 41mm, 1/250th second, f11, ISO 2500. The exposure was a little tricky, in the original the shadows are dark but still have detail and the sky is not blown out so I made quite a few adjustments in LR to improve the exposure and I also made some adjustments to the color balance; I'm not sure I like the resulting colors although I tried several different interpretations. Finally I sharpened the image a bit in Topaz Sharpen.

Your composition is good, with the street leading down and away, with a shopper heading home, probably. You also improved the sky very well.
But you are quite right about the resulting colors. They seem to have come out like artificial lighting. I don't know what to advise. Maybe not so light, and more contrast?   Posted: 03/25/2025 03:23:53

Lou, sorry to be late to the chat. March has been an hectic months for work. I agree with Stephen comment. The image is interesting and depict a every day life scenery in a nice way. The colors look like an HDR image. It may add some interest, but I agree they look fake. It may be that topaz has a role in this.

Lou, your composition is strong, effectively guiding the viewer's eye along the street toward the figure, enhancing the everyday story being told. However, I agree with Stephen and Michele-the colors currently have an artificial, HDR-like appearance. Adjusting the brightness downward slightly and increasing contrast may help achieve a more natural, realistic look.   Posted: 03/30/2025 10:10:01
