About the Image(s)

This photo was taken while I was in Cuba in 2018. Camera Canon 6D, Tamron 28-300mm at 179mm, f/10. 1/200 second, ISO 400. I only made a few changes to the image in Lightroom, I cropped and straightened the image, slightly adjusted the exposure and increased the vibrance.

This is a great capture! The composition tells a strong story, drawing the viewer into the subject's focused moment. The natural pose and environment make it feel authentic and engaging. The soft lighting works well to keep the details in both the subject and background without harsh shadows.

One minor refinement-consider slightly blurring or toning down the brightness of the background fence. While it adds context, the white lines draw a bit of attention away from the subject. A subtle adjustment could help strengthen the overall focus. Nicely done!   Posted: 02/09/2025 13:58:11

Excellent work Lou in capturing this scenery. It tells a story that this is a tourist trying to keep on paper memories of a travel. It is nice to realize there are still people that uses pen and paper....
An alternative to blurring or toning down the background fence would be to have a little vignetting.

best

Michele

Thanks for the comments Michele. I agree with your suggestions. The young woman writing in her journal is an interesting subject.   Posted: 02/15/2025 23:25:53

Sometimes the best images come along when the subject isn't looking. I like the adjustments. If you blurred the background or even had a circular effect around the subject that would be nice. You've inspired me to look for something similar. The colours are lovely.
