Attached is my January image. A few years ago I captured this scene in a plaza in Barcelona. I wasn't sure what this woman was doing but she seemed very intent. I translated the message she was writing and I believe it is about abuse. Camera Canon 7D, Tamron 16-300mm lens at 16mm. ISO 400, f8.0, 1/1250 second. In Lightroom I straightened the keystoning and cropped the people out of the image on the right. In LR in increased the overall exposure and I also masked the subject in LR and brighten it up a little. I like all the activity in the plaza and how no one seems to pay any attention to the woman and boy.

It is interesting that people are ignoring the pair, except for the woman in sunnies and the man in the palm tree t-shirt coming down the stairs. I can't help wondering whether the groups to the right and up the stairs are carrying flags or banners. By bringing the pair "forward" you have made them stand out very well (and the increased exposure helps). Well spotted. Posted: 01/16/2025 07:22:06

Lou this is an excellent story telling image. I like the composition. The pave lines lead to the image. There is a triangular empty spaces around the subjects almost to highlight that their protest is going to be lost in the indifference.
