About the Image(s)
This particular shot is one of my favorites from a late-night outing around Nashville, TN. I usually explore between midnight and 3 a.m. when the city is alive and full of character, and this night was no different. I managed to capture this spontaneous, joyful moment of a couple playfully horsing around after an evening of bar hopping. To stay inconspicuous and keep the scene authentic, I shot from a low angle at torso level. My settings for this were a shutter speed of 1/790, an aperture of f/1.6, and an exposure time of 1/800. I love how the warm city lights and raw energy really bring this scene to life.

Great street capture. I love the action and the smile on the womans face. She has you nailed. It is a little soft which is not distracting since more important is the emotion. You don't say the ISO or lens focal length which is a major part of the equaiton in order to get the whole story. Exposure time is the same thing as shutter speed. Imagining what it would look like in Black and White.   Posted: 11/05/2024 17:24:54

Hi Keisha, I think that this is a great image. I like both the color and B&W but I think I prefer the gritty B&W rendering. Great job spotting and capturing this image. I would like to see a bit more space in front of the subject, to my eye it seems as though the man is running into the edge of the frame.   Posted: 11/07/2024 17:23:23

Hi Keisha,
this is a great image of street life. You capture the idea of happiness in this image. She is clearly in love with him and happy. The image tells a wonderful story. I also believe the monochrome version is more appealing. The sign and the green scooter become part of the image and their colors does not create distraction. The same for the red line painted on the sidewalk.

I also would like to add that the lines on the man's shirt suggest "movement". Re your shot in Group 5, I like the original version best. The woman's hair is part of the picture/story. It is a nice capture.   Posted: 11/20/2024 00:04:31

Hi Keisha,
Nice shot! I agree that the emotion is key here. It looks best (in my opinion also) in black and white, because the lights and red mark etcetera don't distract the viewer. This also would be good in open competition.
Cheers,
