About the Image(s)
I just took this puffin a couple of weeks ago in northeastern Newfoundland. There were so many and I couldn't decide which shot to submit. Anyway, I liked the purple flowers in this one. Taken with Nikon Z8, 1/800 sec at f8. 180mm focal length (yes, he was up fairly close). Ran it through PS for contrast and Topaz sharpener.

It looks close! Perfect focus on the puffin and the flowers (they do add to 64 photo)and the water is just a little out of focus so it doesn't interfere. And the puffin is a high stepper!   Posted: 08/02/2026 01:47:51
Great composition with the puffin hopping! The colours and contrast are perfect with the flowers and grass in the foreground leading you to the puffin.   Posted: 08/02/2026 05:54:17

Great composition. Love the way he is stepping, tells a story. Colors and depth of field are great.

I like that the puffin is walking, showing action. You have a good depth of field with the background blurry. The purple flowers and orange beak and feet are complementary colors, making for a great color combination. The cropping was well done keeping in the flowers.   Posted: 08/08/2026 15:42:12
