Montmorency Falls, Quebec by Janet Pieper

April 2026 - Montmorency Falls, Quebec

About the Image(s)

This was taken from the top of a waterfall in Quebec, looking down.
I used a Panasonic DMC-FZ200.
F4, 1/640 s, ISO 250

I lightened shadows and darkened some highlights. I also increased contrast and detail.

I don't do landscapes, so probably not much help. I would darken the rocks on the right and maybe add some texture and clarity to the water. Were you trying to smooth out the water with that shutter speed?   Posted: 04/01/2026 16:22:57

The mist rising emphasizes the force of the water. It is a great shot!   Posted: 04/01/2026 17:27:27

Love the water & mist - I would try to take down the lighter areas of the water - maybe with the highlighter and white slider - to give some more detail with the spray / mist.   Posted: 04/01/2026 18:45:26

I darkened the rocks on the right, and added some contrast to the water. Did I do too much?   Posted: 04/02/2026 20:31:20
