Jaguars Mating by Howard Frank

February 2025 - Jaguars Mating

About the Image(s)

I made this image in Porto Jofre in Brazil from a boat we were on. I understand they mate off and on for 3 days. Amazingly, we were the only boat to see this. Taken with my Nikon Z9 and 100 to 400 lens at f8, 1/3200, ISO 1250. Processed in Pure Raw 3 and Lightroom.

Quite a shot. Do we need to add X rated to our DD 90 title? I found myself comparing the spots of the two Jaguars!   Posted: 02/01/2025 16:59:51

Amazing shot. Absolutely beautiful. You can see the eyes, which is always a bonus. My only suggestion would be to darken the bright green leaves on the left, and the tiny ones on the right. Just so they don't distract from the main subject.   Posted: 02/04/2025 22:44:07

Howard, if you try Janet's suggestion please share it so we can see the difference.   Posted: 02/05/2025 01:47:01

Hi Howard, it's an excellent moment. In addition to Janet suggestion. I would also suggest you darken the two Jaguar to allow the male eye more obvious. Animal eye is always viewer eyes ultimate stop in viewing animal image. It is also called a fixation point.   Posted: 02/15/2025 08:54:47
