About the Image(s)
Sony A1, Sony 200-600 at 600, 1/2000 sec., f/8, ISO 1250. Side lighting was the issue this early morning at Merritt Is. I tried to lighten the shadow side and this is all I could do without losing contrast. I used a luminosity mask in PS with a selection of the subject only and then a brightness adjustment. As always comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Merritt is one of my favorite places to bird! You got this guy at the right time, earlier or later would not have worked as well!   Posted: 11/03/2024 15:36:43

Dan, this is wonderful. Wow! If you didn't tell us that you needed to correct for the dark shadow I wouldn't have know. I like the side lighting and you controlled the shadow well.I wish I had more for you but... the only thing I have to say is. I wish I had a shot like this.   Posted: 11/04/2024 14:42:51

Hi Dan. It's a perfect shot with a perfect symmetry. You are lucky! I think you have done a great post to balance the highlight and shadow of the subject. I would normally add a bit of 'drama' by applying a bit of vignette around the bright area.   Posted: 11/05/2024 01:08:12
