About the Image(s)

A visit back to Horseshoe Curve. You can see the top of the viewing platform better now. It was closed when we were there, so we couldn't walk to the top.
I'm still struggling with finding a good composition...

I like the swooping look of this composition. I think it would be even better without the parking lot, roads, and viewing platform at the bottom. They seem to be causing unnecessary distractions. I would recommend cropping the bottom of the image up to the bottom of the water, and perhaps a little into the water. That makes a simpler picture with all the lines leading towards the center. The roads along the sides would be more obvious in adding to that effect. The clouds are nice, but a day where there are even more clouds that enhance that swooping look toward the center would make a phenomenal image!   Posted: 07/07/2024 21:42:27

Hi Lisa, I like your image and the way my eye is funneled into the distance. I agree with Drema about removing the parking lot etc. I think that if taken from a higher altitude the image would have even more depth.   Posted: 07/08/2024 20:42:52

I like this view with the rail lines, road, and lakes leading to the horizon. But the curve around the bend is not shown, I think is the curve is the most important aspect of the location. I'm hoping to make a road trip out that way this summer.   Posted: 07/10/2024 16:24:39

Very cool. You have to love how you are pulled into the image by the roads. That said, ideally leading lines should lead somewhere, and without a stronger sky to my eye you just go to empty space.   Posted: 07/17/2024 01:13:01

Lisa, I really can't add anything that has not already been said by others about your posted image. However, I really like the image identified as Original, which obviously isn't.I think it has the potential to be a very interesting image.   Posted: 07/21/2024 21:35:12
