About the Image(s)
The Interurban Bridge, also known as the Ohio Electric Railroad Bridge. is a historic reinforced concrete multiple arch bridge built in 1908. The span was once the world's largest earth-filled reinforced concrete bridge. The bridge, which is no longer in use, is a popular subject for photographers and painters but it has been abandoned for many years and now is at risk of being demolished. The cost to demolish it is in the millions but so is the cost to restore it.
I made quite a few adjustments in LR because I thought the original image wasn't quite right but I'm not sure I made it better.

A re-processing of your July 2023 image? It looks the same except for a little less sharpening in the trees and less darkening of the water. You said you took this picture in 2019; has it deteriorated more since then? It would be interesting to shoot again and see how much it has fallen apart since. Has a decision been made about the demolition?   Posted: 04/04/2026 18:41:47
I have seen several of this type of rr bridge in the northeast built in the early 1900's and this one is in the worst condition of any. And I think that you did a good job in capturing that condition - winter, gray day. I might try slightly dropping the brightness of the upper part of the river. Good shot.   Posted: 04/07/2026 01:26:30
