About the Image(s)
I took this on a recent trip to the northern part of Michigan's lower peninsula. I took the photo with my Mavic 2 Pro at 1/800 second, f6.3, ISO 400. The raw images were really dull, so I adjusted the exposure, saturation, and clarity in Lightroom. I also brightened the highlights in the sky and cropped a bit off the left side. I then used LR Denoise to add some clarity to the image.

Great image Lou, very well done. I like the sense of depth created by the foreground and dirt road leading into the trees and hazy hills in the background. The colors and texture of the fields add to the image. Would a slight improvement be to crop or fill in the small patch on the lower right?   Posted: 12/03/2025 15:24:47
Thanks for the comments Richard. I didn't really notice the lower right until you mentioned it, thanks.   Posted: 12/03/2025 21:25:28
I really like what you have done with the colors in this photo, and the handling of the sky was very good. You have cropped for a good composition, and removed small distractions.
A recommendation I would make would be to think about the path that the viewer's eye moves through a photo. Bright areas, sharply focused areas, and high contrast areas will attract the viewer's eye. One of the photographer's jobs is to lead the viewer's eye through a photo so they see what the photographer wants them to see. This image is quite bright overall. I suggest applying a vignette to draw the attention to the center subject area. And then use a bit of dodging and burning to lighten and darken the areas where you do or do not want to focus their attention.
Very good photo, overall!   Posted: 12/03/2025 18:28:52

Thanks for the comments and suggestions Drema. Overall I could certainly pay closer attention to leading the viewers eye,   Posted: 12/03/2025 21:27:52
Nicely composed and a good location for a photo.
I would have considered darkening the sky a bit. And adding a touch of DeHaze to the entire image.
Echoing Drema's remarks the image needs some vignetting   Posted: 12/05/2025 04:59:44

Thanks for the comments Pete. I will give them a try. I have to be careful as I can be heavy handed on the dehaze.   Posted: 12/07/2025 22:48:22
