About the Image(s)
Another shot taken last month during my Minnesota trip up to the northern shore of Lake Superior. It was taken during golden hour, late in the day.
This photo is a 9-panel HDR-pano consisting of 3 horizontal images each having 3 exposure settings, stitched and merged in Lightroom. I wanted a 16X9 aspect ratio, but the pano was too wide to include both the endpoint of the land on the right and the curve of the bay on the left. So I stretched the image vertically so I could fit it into a 16X9 crop. It seemed to have the effect of the drone having a bit lower altitude.

Drema, this looks like another beautiful spot on Lake Superior and the golden hour lighting adds to that beauty. The image looks good but I think the image manipulation of stitching and forcing it to a 16x9 format created some distortion noticeable when comparing the Artist Point to the original image.   Posted: 12/05/2025 02:32:51
Thanks, Richard. The only distortion I saw was the slight lean in the tallest tree on the peninsula. But it wasn't so much that it seemed odd or unreal to me. If you are seeing something different, please let me know.   Posted: 12/15/2025 23:26:09
In the spirit of full disclosure I just didn't have many comments on this one. Great balance -- the bright foreground trees on the right balance out the red and other structures on the left. Perfect light and location.   Posted: 12/05/2025 04:54:38
Thanks, Pete. I'm looking forward to your drone presentation next month!   Posted: 12/15/2025 23:27:13
Hi Drema, this is another great image of a beautiful subject. I like the 16x9 format and I think that the finished version is stunning. I like the composition showing the foreground and background clearly.   Posted: 12/07/2025 23:01:06
