Meandering Stream by Lisa Cirincione, PPSA, AFIAP

April 2025 - Meandering Stream

About the Image(s)

An archive photo, of a pretty, meandering stream near my home. I would like to go back and see what it looks like now.

Nice capture, and great color. Compositionally I thought it was a bit of a struggle. The stream is a nice leading line but it just leads out of the image, not to anything. And the top where the stream ends is too bright.

The stream and the tree compete with each other

In post the shadows could have been brighter.

Somehow I think this scene might have been better captured if shot straight down?   Posted: 04/08/2025 02:38:10

I don't mind the composition, but I think the lighting was not particularly good for this shot. I like the reflection of the sky in the water, but I wish it were closer to the middle of the photo instead of so close to the top edge. It also looks like the red tree, although an interesting subject, is a little too over-processed for my tastes.   Posted: 04/13/2025 16:26:19

Good shot Lisa, I like the how the stream leads through the scene. Also the colors look good (maybe slight oversaturated) but the landscape seems to have lost some detail.   Posted: 04/16/2025 14:10:00

Hi Lisa, I like your image and I don't think that it is over saturated. I think it is a pretty image, for me the bright spot in the water is the only drawback.
