About the Image(s)

This is an image of one of the amazing areas in the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument in NE AZ. I car camped near the site; shot in the evening on the ground; endured a cold, uncomfortable night sleeping in my car; and in the morning flew the drone from my car to the site, about 3000 feet away. The area is mostly deep sand and I launched and recovered from the hood of my rental jeep. The light was initially muted by some clouds on the east horizon, but I eventually got some decent light.

This image was shot from just below the limit of 400 feet, and not cropped at all. I did a few straight down shots but liked this one -- with some angle -- best. The colors and textures at this site are amazing and the image did not need much post. In LR just de-noised, followed by some contrast and darkening. I burned down the corners and brightened the area in the upper right to help establish a point of interest. And then added Structure in Nik/DXO Viveza 7

If we have any geology geeks in the group these rocks are believed to be mostly petrified sand dunes.

P.S. a few weeks ago I popped for the DJI Air 3S and the 35 min flight time was very helpful while I waited for some better light
