About the Image(s)

I took this photo a couple of years ago, it is not too far from where I live. I don't know how long it looked like this but a few months later when I went by the barn was demolished and all cleaned up.

Bummer about the barn!

The image seems just a little too bright, and perhaps the WB could be a little warmer. Your crop looked good to my eye

I like the image a lot   Posted: 02/05/2025 04:41:48

Great shot and subject. I might crop to just the barn less junk? Maybe more sky a portrait view. More contrast for sure maybe B/W, Red is very good in black and white.   Posted: 02/11/2025 17:39:31

Thanks for the comments Alex. I like the idea of the crop but I kind of like the junk too, I think it adds a little flavor. B&W is a good suggestion. Thanks.   Posted: 02/11/2025 22:40:21

With these old barns, they are sometimes worth more as scrap- that old wood siding may be sold for a high price, lead paint and all! The image is just a little too bright, you did a nice job with the crop and composition. Fun fact- there are 3 boats in the pic.   Posted: 02/12/2025 19:36:06

Thanks for the comments Richard. I agree the image is too bright. I think it's sad to see the old barns go but I imagine the upkeep is high.   Posted: 02/13/2025 16:37:27

A situation where you could never go back and reshoot even if you wanted to! Too bad. But you could get a before and after shot!

The exposure of the barn isn't too bright, IMO, but I would certainly add a vignette to the image to draw the eye to the main subject. Also... there's that cyan sky again. Add a little magenta to give it a more natural look.

I'm fine with the junk in the image... it is part of the story, so I wouldn't recommend cleaning any of it up. I like the picture overall, kind of a fun shot.   Posted: 02/22/2025 18:22:53

Thanks for the comments Drema. I seem to have trouble with sky colors, thanks for your recommendation.   Posted: 02/23/2025 14:24:49
