I've posted images of Cana Island Lighthouse in Door County, Wisconsin to this group a couple of times before. This image was taken a year and a half ago, and was a single shot. As you can see from the original, it was cropped, lightened, and the colors were warmed quite a bit and saturated. No fancy panorama or exposure blending this time!

What a lovely sky. And the flag in the foreground is a nice detail. A very pleasing image!
Since you go there a lot next time I would try moving the drone a little to right and getting the island more in the lower left?

Thanks, Pete. I understand what you mean about the island being in the lower left. with a diagonal line leading up to the sun and reflection. But in this case, if I had moved anymore to the right, the sun's reflection would have been over the land and therefore not reflecting (I actually have several other versions, but this angle showed the sun and reflection the best).

Hi Drema, I think this is a great image and subject matter. I like the composition but Pete's suggestion regarding that placement of the island is good. I also think that the greens could be a little brighter. Posted: 02/09/2025 22:01:36

I like the Sun refelection in the water. I would like a lower view with Sun in background closer to horizion at sunset. Great Sky color. The Lighthouse is a little lost in this one compared to your others. Posted: 02/11/2025 17:45:30
Thanks, Alex. I agree with you that a lower view probably would work better. I have several other views that are taken closer to the lighthouse, and one even has the lighthouse light lit, but it was taken a little later and does not have the sun and reflection in the image. I agree with Pete in the issue of the green. I like the image colors and subject. But to increase the wow factor, I would lighten the island, so it would balance the colorful sky. Posted: 02/11/2025 20:06:28

I like how you processed the image, especially the colors. The tones are subtle which gives a tranquil late afternoon mood to the image. In my opinion, you would have lost this feel with brightening the greens hues. The foliage in the foreground has green highlights and is enough leaving the background a bit darker.
