About the Image(s)

My submission this month was captured on an early morning photo outing near Mount Rainier National Park. This farm was on the way there, but from the road, I could only see a small part of it. I parked, checked air space and pre-flight, and launched.

I had to fly over some brush and trees, a bit of a challenge, to get this view of this dairy farm, just as the sun was coming up. The drone hovered at 80 feet, with no wind, so I snapped about a dozen shots and returned the drone safely. I fly a Mavic Mini 3

Nice shot, nice farm scene you did a good job capturing the ground fog. Perhaps you might be able to give the sky a little more punch?   Posted: 11/08/2024 21:42:46

Hi Gordy, I like this image and I think it's great that you were able to capture it. I agree with Richard, I think that the sky is not helping the image, perhaps cropping out part of the sky and enhancing what is left might give the image more impact.   Posted: 11/10/2024 15:48:38

On my monitor only a thumbnail came up. When clicked on it a very small image displayed but it was hard to make much out. If you are not doing this I'd suggest in post sizing to 1920x1080 at 300 and then if the file exceed 1mb just move the jpeg slider left to maybe 9.

From what I could see, yes, it seems like too much sky.   Posted: 11/11/2024 00:58:55

Good job Gordy, It is a little hard to make out detail buti like the subject. Great sky and lighting. Maybe bracket next time for more detail. Lovely image.   Posted: 11/15/2024 22:01:42

Very good image. It was mentioned above about making some changes to the colors. I agree. If you are a photoshop user or any other software that can separate sections, this is what I would have done. make 3 layers of the original.
Layer 1 darken the sky a bit more or increase the saturation
Layer2 Lighten the forest. So we can see more detail.
Layer 3 Sharpen the ground and add a bit of exposure.
Impose each new layer to the original and I think it would make an image with more impact. again is my suggestion and may not deliver the maker intent. Just my 3 nickels(inflation)   Posted: 11/28/2024 23:24:21
