I think the water colors really help this photo stand out. Very nice work!   Posted: 11/04/2024 16:54:53

Welcome Neighbor! I know exactly where this was shot - at the southern end of the island - have been there many times with my boat. The image quite accurately captures the water's green and blue tones, well done. Question: do you launch from a boat?   Posted: 11/05/2024 16:49:34

Thanks, Yes I did launch from a pontoon, just to the left of the image(not shown). A bit of a challenge the return.   Posted: 11/05/2024 17:41:45

Hi Mike, I think this is a pretty amazing image. I love the subject and the wonderful colors. I like the composition and the overall exposure. To my eye the white sand is too bright but I am not sure what could be done to avoid that. I've been tempted to fly from a boat but have never had the courage to do so.   Posted: 11/07/2024 16:31:12

The issue and danger is 'return to home'.
Just bring it back way before is due.
DO not wait for need to 'return to home' is crucial.
Land it manually. it will be a challenge wind may make it difficult.
Otherwise, why not.   Posted: 11/11/2024 21:18:07

Nicely composed and love the colors.
The sand seems overexposed, and I don't see any detail in it. If you are not exposure bracketing that is usually a good idea, so you have lighter and darker exposures if needed in post.
It is hard to tell because we are required to submit such small file sizes, but the image overall seemed soft.   Posted: 11/11/2024 00:46:27

Nice photo I like the colors. There is alot of open space for the eye to wander maybe smaller subject or be farther away which is scary over water. Great first shot welcome to a great group of pilots.   Posted: 11/15/2024 21:57:01

Also N/D filters help to slow shutter speeds in bright light.   Posted: 11/15/2024 22:03:02
