A bit of a funny story (and stupidity on my part)... While traveling last year, I followed some friends into this area and really didn't know we had entered into the shoreline of the National Park System along Lake Superior. While flying my drone, they came over to me and asked about whether or not I would get into trouble for flying. I replied that there was no one for miles around, and there were no airports nearby, so I didn't know why there would be any trouble. They looked at me and said, "I thought it was illegal to fly in a National Park!" Oops!
I merged 3 images into a pano to create this image, although it really only added a little to the water and rocks at the bottom. I wish I could have done a slower exposure to soften the water in the waterfall, but unfortunately, that is very difficult to do with a drone. I've not experimented much with the tripod setting on my drone to see how steady it would hold for a long exposure, but without an ND filter, I probably wouldn't have been able to get a long exposure in the bright daylight anyway.

Pretty cool shot in spite of the restriction(s) The layers of the rock and the water are pretty interesting.
There is an app you can get for free called "autopilot" that will show restricted area(s) and help keep you safe.   Posted: 11/04/2024 17:00:03

I use Air Control (previously Aloft). I didn't think it marked out the National Parks, but I just went and looked, and it did. Which app are you using?   Posted: 11/05/2024 20:30:33

Hi Drema, nice job with the merge, looks perfect. Also nice composition with leading lines. Tripod drone setting, interesting, not sure if the Air 2S has such a thing. As an aside, does Lake Superior have tides? I see that bare shoreline which makes me think tide or low water level.   Posted: 11/05/2024 17:04:22

The Great Lakes do not really have tides. The gravitational pull of the moon is so slight that atmospheric changes and pressures exert a greater influence than the moon. Interestingly enough, the Mediterranean doesn't have tides either. When I was there and asked our local guides about tide charts, they laughed at me and said there are no tides in the Mediterranean.   Posted: 11/05/2024 20:36:08

Beautiful image Drema. Unfortunately some of the best places to photograph have drone restrictions although most are for good reasons. I love this image, the colors of the rocks and the overall exposure are great. I do find the little stream at the bottom to be distracting.   Posted: 11/07/2024 16:37:25

A nicely put together image. I like the stream Lou mentions -- feels like a good leading line to me. I think the square rock in the middle right could have been burned down some.
I did struggle with the trees. In the fall they might have been beautiful (if they change colors) but this time of year they looked kind of beaten. Possibly pump up the greens (Nik Color Effects Pro, Foliage filter)?   Posted: 11/11/2024 01:06:08

Regardless as where was taking, the images is nice. Seen a stream or fall into the lake or ocean, makes it great. Color contrast is also good.   Posted: 11/28/2024 22:57:17
