This photo is the Black Friars Bridge in London I took this spring. This is a historic road and pedestrian crossing over the River Thames in London, connecting the City of London to the south bank near the Tate Modern. Opened in 1869 and designed by Joseph Cubitt, it features five wrought-iron arches and stone carvings of birds. It was taken using my Sony a7IV camera, with Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens. Post processing was done using Lightroom and Photoshop. The original photo is attached. I don’t carry tripod during travel; the water was processed for long exposure type of result.

Interesting structure. Where are the bird carvings? The golden hues in the processed sky are pleasing, but I would tone down the exposure/highlights. I like the silhouettes of the buildings against the dark horizon. Your processing of the water generated a silken look. I also like the choppy water in the original. Together with the buildings and bridge it changes the affect subtilley from a peaceful to a more mysterious affect. Posted: 08/13/2026 01:25:52
