May 2025 - The Eye

We just returned from a trip to Monument Valley Arizona and Canyon De Chelley. This photo titled, "The Eye" is the name of the arch. I was fortunate to get some clouds in the sky that look like an iris. The black is natural creosote in the rock. ISO 320, 26mm, F4.0, 1/250 sec. I entered this in a photo club assignment for 'Surreal Landscapes'. It was processed in Lightroom.

Hi Lauren, Pareidolia strikes again! Yes, it does look like an eye and the clouds really make the image effective. This image could stand out nicely in a competition full of routine slot canyon images. Karl Posted: 05/10/2025 21:24:36
